I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 8 years of counseling experience. My experience lies in working with teens and adults in various areas, including anxiety, depression, women's issues, and LGBTQ presenting issues. I seek to help individuals better identify their emotions, find effective ways to cope with intense emotions/experiences, and learn how to improve confidence within themselves to utilize these skills on their own outside of therapy sessions. I do this through use of an eclectic style of therapy that includes person centered, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused interventions.
Master's in Mental Health Counseling: Walden University - 2015
Bachelor's of Science, Honors Degree, Psychology major & Sociology minor: Ferrum College - 2012
I focus on providing a safe, inclusive, confidential, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their true selves so that patients can walk away feeling empowered and more in control of their lives. And a good sense of humor is always welcome- this is sometimes the greatest coping skill!
